“αGEL” as a material taken up in “Asia Color Trend Book 2020-21”, attractive fluorescent color has been added to the excellent functionality and texture. The rich color ideas that the visual and tactile sensations interweave attracted unique attention.
タイカが開発・製造・販売する「αGEL（アルファゲル）」は、非常に柔らかいゲル状の素材だ。その驚異の衝撃吸収性は、高さ18mから生卵を落としても割れずに受け止めるほど。他にも、防振・制振、放熱（熱対策）、オプティカルボンディング、防水・防塵といった多様な性能を持っており、独特な感触も相まって、スポーツシューズ、文房具、バッグ、自動車、産業機器、介護・福祉用品など様々な商品に採用されている。また、IoTや宇宙開発といった先端技術にも応用されており、未知の可能性を秘めた多機能素材として注目を集めている。

「αGEL」の魅力は機能的価値だけには留まらない。柔らかなものから硬いものまで、多彩な触感を表現することができる。そこで同社は触感から感じ取るイメージに着目し、感性素材としての価値を構築するプロジェクトを2018年に立ち上げた。
“αGEL” can express a variety of tactile sensations, from soft to hard. Focused on the image perceived from the tactile sensation, Taika launched a project to build value as a sensible material in 2018 and completed “HAPTICS OF WONDER 12 Tactile GEL Sample Book vol.1”. Each characteristic can be grasped from the UX evaluation map in which these emotion images are plotted. It is also expected to be used as an index when designers and engineers search for tactile sensations and put them into creation. “αGEL” will be applied to unprecedented fields.
プロジェクトでは、色鉛筆に12色の彩りがあるように、12種類の触感サンプル「HAPTICS OF WONDER 12触αGEL見本帖 vol.1」を製作。これらの感性イメージをプロットしたUX評価マップから、それぞれの特徴を把握することができる。デザイナー、エンジニアが触感を探り、クリエイションに落とし込む際の指標としての活用や、「αGEL」のこれまでにない領域への展開も期待される。機能性と感性の両面を柔軟に併せ持つ「αGEL」は、企業姿勢である「世の中の期待を大きく上回る価値を創造し続けていく」ことを体現するユニークな素材だ。
